AMANDA REA, Chartered Physiotherapist
Amanda was born and grew up in New Zealand where she trained as a physiotherapist. Since then she has travelled and worked as a consultant/senior physiotherapist in private practice in NZ, Australia and the UK. She has 20 years’ experience successfully treating clients for many musculoskeletal conditions such as knee, ankle hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder pain. She has a specialist interest in spinal and spinal referred pain and headaches.
Amanda uses a problem-solving approach throughout her assessment to find the underlying cause of an individual’s condition or pain and works together with the client to execute targeted therapy programmes to ensure the best possible outcome. She believes everyone should be able to function and move in the way they want to with no or minimal pain. As a physiotherapist she has watched people become less and less active as a result of pain. Her goal is to treat, educate and promote healthy exercise to ensure clients can remain as active as possible.
As a physiotherapist Amanda utilises the following treatment techniques:
When she is not working as a Physiotherapist Amanda loves to travel and is a keen sports person who currently likes to walk, run and spend time with her family. In 2022 she represented the Netherlands in touch rugby at the Elegance Tournament in Paris and will be the Netherlands Women’s Touch Team physio at the Worlds being held in Nottingham in July 2024. She also recently completed the 3 peaks challenge in 24 hours and hopes to challenge herself and inspire others to do the same.
